The date is approximated from the address of the paper manufacturer, Maison Beethoven, 17-19 Rue de la Régence, which did not move to that address until 1903; so this cadenza was composed between 1903 and 1931. (Another book claims that they moved to that location rather earlier than 1903, in 1895, on the occasion of their acquision by Georges Oertel and the change of their name to Maison Beethoven. ... Hrm.)
